What to Expect
What is the Sunday Worship Service like?
During our Sunday worship gathering, we come together to worship God as a church family. The aim of our Sunday worship gathering is that we would sing the Word, pray the Word, read the Word, and preach the Word for the glory of Christ Jesus and the building up of His Church.
Our Sunday service consists of prayer, singing, Scripture reading, expositional preaching, and fellowship with one another. The music we sing is a blend of traditional hymns and newer music that is theologically correct. We have choir-led congregational singing, which emphasizes the gathered body singing to God with one voice, and from time to time a solo special. The preaching is expositional, which means that we usually walk verse by verse through books of the Bible. There may be times of topical preaching that correlates to a specific Christian holiday, or a small topical series. It is our aim in every service to clearly communicate the message of the Gospel, which is the message of how God has worked salvation for sinners through repentance and faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
How Should I Dress?
When you come to Oak Grove, you will see anything from suits and ties to jeans and t-shirts. Our goal is to focus our attention on Christ, not to be distracted by how we are dressed. We want everyone who attends our services to feel comfortable. We would love for you to come as you are!
What is the Wednesday midweek service like?
Our Wednesday evening study is a time we gather together for corporate prayer and group study in God's Word. The youth usually meet with the youth ministry team in the fellowship hall for Bible study and fellowship.
