In this passage we hear about Smyrna, which was one of the two letters to the churches that had no criticism. Here we see four truths:

1. The Person of Christ (v8)

2. The Plight of the Church (v9)

3. The Persecution They Will Face (v10)

4. The Promise to Those Who Overcome (v11)

We can take away from this passage and letter that suffering is never beyond Jesus, He knows and sees our tribulations, and just like Smyrna we must stand firm and remain faithful and loyal to God, and trust God to deliver us.
