What it Takes
Join us as we continue in Matthew. This week we are in Matthew 16:13-28. Jesus asks, “Who do you say that I am?” in Matthew 16:15.
We see three truths in this passage:
First, we must confess the King—Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God (16:13–20).
Second, we must consider the Cross—the suffering and death of the Messiah are not a detour, but God’s mission to save (16:21–23).
Third, we must carry the Cross—denying self and following Jesus is costly, but it’s the path that leads to life (16:24–28).
Who Jesus is shapes where you go and what you carry.
What are you following—Christ’s mission, or your own comfort?
So take a moment, breathe, and let this sink in: Jesus isn’t just asking what you believe—He’s inviting you to respond. Get ready to be encouraged, challenged, and drawn closer to Him.
